Blul Nurwind
Introducing the all new professional Armenian Blul. Over the past decade, Master Manvel Mnatsakanyan has worked to perfect the centuries old Armenian Blul.
The BLUL is a shepherd's flute that is traditionally played in Armenia and has an open end. It is made of apricot wood or reed and has eight holes for playing, including seven finger holes and one thumb hole. The blul has a soft and velvety timbre and produces a diatonic sound. It is similar in structure to the kaval and is often associated with the sring flute, which is a common term for Armenian end-blown flutes.
